Data:2017-08-17 16:19:41 Hit:Time

Under the arrangement of Mr. Kaiyamo, the Namibian Ambassador to China as well as Mrs. Maggie, First Secretary of the Embassy, on July 17, 2017, the Business Study Delegation of XCCG, consisting of three persons, started to explore the market in Namibia for 7 days. This tour was strongly supported by the Namibian Embassy to China, guaranteeing the smoothness and efficiency of this visit.

The delegation successively met the heads of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Finance Ministry, Mining and Energy Ministry, Trade and Small-Medium Businesses Development Ministry and other relevant ministries. Huang Zhixue, General Manager of the International Business Division, introduced the profile and business scope of XCCG to the above ministers and participating officials, expressed the purposes and assumptions of exploring and developing the Namibian market and inquired about the market conditions related to XCCG businesses. The ministers introduced the development status of their ministries and those related to the projects under construction or proposal as well as their long-term planning, and also answered questions raised by the delegation in terms of policies, legal regulations and implementation procedures, and hoped to contribute towards cooperation.

The delegation also held meetings with the Namibia Investment Center, Walvis Bay Corridor Organization and other trade and investment promotion departments and also got in touch with the regional governments of Namibia. The delegation learned about the near-term planning by regional governments, municipal projects as well as the local features and advantages from the mayor of Windhoek City and the governor of Erongo Region located in West Coast. The delegation also met local private investors and entrepreneurs and communicated and discussed with them on the status quo and potential of the road and bridge, housing construction and investment markets.

Namibia has a vast territory with a sparse population, enjoying significant advantages in location and resources. In spite of limited market size and slowing economic growth at present, as well as other adverse factors, the country is eager and intends to pursue an export-oriented, expansive and integrative path of development, making use of its domestic social stability and well-established legal system. The delegation believes that along with the implementation of a regional connection plan in the country, huge potential remains in infrastructure construction and the investment market, meriting high attention and a close follow-up.
